A method for forming an undergarment comprises providing a web, cutting the web to form a pre-form, the pre-form comprising the first and the second transverse edges and two longitudinal edges, each longitudinal edge having two waist sections and a crotch section located intermediate the waist sections, a sealing area being located adjacent and inboard of each waist section, and transferring the pre-form to a processing wheel. The method further comprises gripping the pre-form adjacent each waist section with the grippers in four gripping areas, each gripping area being located near a respective sealing area, jointly rotating at least the grippers that hold the gripping areas in the region of one of the transverse edges around at least one hinging axis extending substantially parallel to the transverse edges of the pre-form to place the transverse edge generally parallel and opposite to the second transverse edge, superimposing the sealing areas in a contacting relationship, joining the superimposed sealing areas, thus forming the undergarment, and releasing the undergarment from the grippers.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant la formation d'un sous-vêtement. Ledit procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : fournir un tissu ; découper ledit tissu de manière à former une ébauche, ladite ébauche comprenant les premier et second bords transversaux et deux bords longitudinaux, chaque bord longitudinal présentant deux sections de taille et une section d'entrecuisse située entre les sections de taille, une zone de fermeture étant située à côté et à l'intérieur de chaque section de taille ; et transférer l'ébauche à une roue de traitement. Le procédé comprend en outre les étapes consistant à : saisir l'ébauche adjacente à chaque section de taille avec des pinces dans quatre zones de pinçage, chaque zone de pinçage étant située près d'une zone de fermeture respective ; faire pivoter ensemble au moins les pinces maintenant les zones de pinçage dans la région de l'un des bords transversaux, autour d'au moins un axe de pivotement s'étendant de manière sensiblement parallèle aux bords transversaux de l'ébauche, afin de placer le bord transversal de manière généralement parallèle et en face du second bord transversal ; superposer les zones de fermeture dans une relation de mise en contact ; joindre les zones de fermeture superposées, pour former ainsi le sous-vêtement ; et dégager le sous-vêtement des pinces.
