Method for manufacturing a booklet, such as for instance an ID, which booklet is provided with a number of sheets of paper and a cover material, each sheet having a front and a reverse side, each side comprising two pages, which method comprises connecting the sheets of paper to each other along a line between the pages, attaching the cover material to the outside of the booklet, and making a fold in the sheets of paper to form a back of the booklet, and bringing the booklet to the correct size, charac-terized in that the method further comprises attaching a band, which can be attached in the booklet in the same manner as in which the paper sheets are attached to each other, and mechanically attaching a plate to the band, the plate being at least partially made of synthetic material, and having a front and a reverse side, each side comprising one page. Booklet, manufactured according to a method according to the invention.
