A composite-structure snowboard with a solid core. The core is surrounded by at least one upper mechanical strength element and at least one lower mechanical strength element on top of which is a sliding base (12) surrounded by a metallic outer edge (3) consisting of at least one section (4, 5) of a steel shape whose length is approximately equal to the outer edge of the base (12) and with free ends (4a, 4b, 5a, 5b) attached together into a connecting point by an effective mechanical attachment (A, B) such that the edge (3) wraps around on itself.
