ABSTRACT Measuring cell for the spectral analysis of flowing media, in in particular polymer melts, in which the medium to be analysed flows between two mutually facing windows of radiat- ion-transparent material and is penetrated with radiation, at least one window being held in a tube which is sealed from the measuring cell body and is movable axially in a bore of the latter towards or away from the second window, whereby the gap between the windows and hence the layer thickness of the flowing medium is variable. The tube butts in the region of the seal with continuously cylindrical outer surface directly against the walls of the bore and when removed is oversized in this region compared with the bore. The wall thickness of the tube is small compared with the outer diameter of the tube at least in the region of the seal. An adhesive layer is applied in an annular gap between the inside of the tube and the surface area of the window.
