Coating a sol-gel alumina abrasive grit with a ceramic oxide reduces the surface area of the grit and allows the production of vitreous bonded products using low temperature vitreous bond materials without the production of black spots as a result of the incomplete combustion of organic components used in the production process.

Le fait d'enduire une grenaille abrasive d'alumine sol-gel avec de l'oxyde céramique permet de réduire l'aire de surface de la grenaille et permet de produire des produits à liaison vitreuse au moyen de matériaux à liaison vitreuse à basse température sans pour autant produire des tâches noires, dues à d'une combustion incomplète des composants organiques utilisés dans ledit procédé de production.
