A method for identifying artifacts occurring during a measurement of the concentration of an analyte in a biological sample by means of an apparatus that employs optical probes, introduces electromagnetic radiation into tissue, and collects and detects radiation emitted at a distance from the point at which the electromagnetic radiation is introduced. The values of intensity of radiation emitted are collected and used in the method to generate a relationship between these values and the concentration of an analyte in the tissue or the disease state of a patient. The method involves the use of an algorithm that identifies artifacts in the data resulting from motion of the patient and allows the rejection of data sets that contain these artifacts. The algorithm identifies sudden changes in the magnitude and direction in a sequence of collected signals.
Procédé d'identification d'artefacts survenus pendant la mesure de concentration d'un produit à analyser dans un échantillon biologique, ceci au moyen d'un dispositif qui fait intervenir des sondes optiques thermocommandées, introduit un rayonnement électromagnétique dans des tissus, et collecte et détecte un rayonnement émis à l'écart du point d'introduction du rayonnement électromagnétique. Les valeurs d'intensité de rayonnement émis dans diverses longueurs d'onde, à des distances différentes du ou des sites d'introduction et du ou des sites de collecte de la lumière, et à des températures différentes, sont recueillies et utilisées dans le cadre d'une méthode propre à faire apparaître une relation entre lesdites valeurs et la concentration d'un produit à analyser dans les tissus ou l'état pathologique d'un patient. Cette méthode repose sur l'emploi d'un algorithme qui repère dans des données des artefacts provoqués par des mouvements du patient et permet de rejeter lesdites données. L'algorithme fait apparaître de brusques changements de magnitude et de direction dans une séquence de signaux recueillis.
