In a specific non-limiting example, the wireless communication standards provide different service attributes to the user of the wireless device. For example, each standard can be adapted to provide specific services to the user such as voice, video or data, or combinations thereof A specific example of wireless communication standards that can be used are standards based on the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) communication technology In a more specific example the first wireless communication standard is CDMA 2000 1X that provides voice and data services and the second wireless communication standard is CDMA 2000 Evolution Data Only (EvDO) providing data only services but at a higher rate than CDMA 2000 1X
