ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A humidifier including a base defining a reservoir to be filled with liquid; a humidification unit mounted on the base and adapted to produce dispersion of liquid retained by the reservoir, the humidification unit covering the reservoir and being separable from the base along a joint located above and extending around the reservoir; and a seal mechanism including a channel for receiving liquid disposed to form a seal preventing the passage through the joint of liquid dispersed by the humidification unit. The seal prevents undesirable escape of dispersed liquid through the joint between the base and humidification unit. -14-
