The current invention provides methods for increasing the concentration of nitric oxide (NO) in vascular endothelial cells, comprising administering a compound of formula (I), wherein: R is hydrogen, -OH, -O(C1-C4 alkyl), -OCO(C1- C4 alkyl), or -OCOAr where Ar is a phenyl or optionally substituted phenyl; R1 is R, -C1, or -F; R2 is 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1-piperidinyl, or 1- hexamethyleneimino; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof.

L'invention concerne des procédés d'augmentation de la concentration de monoxyde d'azote (NO) dans les cellules de l'endothélium vasculaire, qui consistent à administrer un composé de formule (I), un sel ou un solvate de celui-ci. Dans ladite formule (I), R représente hydrogène, -OH, -O(C¿1?-C¿4?alkyle), -OCO(C¿1?-C¿4?alkyle), ou -OCOAr où Ar représente phényle ou phényle éventuellement substitué; R¿1? représente R, -Cl, ou -F; R¿2? représente 1-pyrrolidinyle, 1-pipéridinyle ou 1-hexaméthylèneimino.
