A controlled release pharmaceutical composition includes a biocompatible polymeric material, preferably polyethylene-vinyl acetate or poly(lactic- glucolic acid), having incorporated therein a soluble receptor capable of binding to its ligand and thus affecting the ligand's function. The soluble receptor is preferably the soluble form of TNF.alpha. receptor. Such compositions are for use in the treatment of disorders in which neutralization of the deleterious effects of TNF.alpha. is required.

Composition pharmaceutique à libération régulée qui comporte un matériau polymère biocompatible, de préférence de l'acétate de polyéthylène-vinyle ou de l'acide poly(lactique-glucolique), contenant un récepteur soluble capable de se lier à son ligand et partant d'affecter la fonction dudit ligand. Ledit récepteur soluble est de préférence la forme soluble du récepteur de TNF.alpha.. Lesdites compositions sont utiles pour traiter des troubles dans lesquels la neutralisation des effets délétères de TNF.alpha. est requise.
