An apparatus (16) and method for leveling a playing surface (6) laid upon a base frame (4) in a side-by-side fashion and cross supports (10) are provided on the base frame (4) to insure adequate support. The pool table slates are provided with pre-drilled apertures (12) which are countersunk and through which the threaded fasteners (24, not shown) are passed to secure the slate (6) to the base frame (4) and the cross supports (10); the apparatus (16) comprising an externally- threaded support rod (18), a collar (22) threaded upon the support rod (18), a support surface or member (23) upon which the playing surface rests, and a fastener (24) securing the apparatus to an underlying surface. In a preferred embodiment the invention comprises four parts: a support rod (18), a foot (20), a collar (22) and a fastener (24, not shown).
La présente invention concerne un dispositif (16) et un procédé destiné à mettre à niveau une surface de jeu (6) reposant sur un cadre de base (4), d'une façon côte à côte, le cadre de base (4) étant équipé de supports traverses (10) de manière à assurer un support acceptable. Les ardoises d'une table de billard sont munies d'ouvertures (12), préforées et fraisées, au travers desquelles des attaches filetées (24, non montrées) sont passées afin de fixer l'ardoise au cadre de base (4) et aux supports traverses. Le dispositif (16) comprend une tige support (18) filetée sur l'extérieur, un collier (22) vissé sur la tige support (18), un élément ou une surface de support (23) sur lequel repose la surface de jeu, et une attache (24) fixant le dispositif à une surface sous-jacente. Dans une réalisation préférée le dispositif de l'invention comprend quatre parties : une tige support (18), un pied (20), un collier (22) et une attache (24, non montrée).
