A method and a tool for use in commencing the drilling of a deviated well from a gap in the casing (78) of a cased wellbore using a non-rotary drill string (20) while maintaining the desired orientation of the drill bit by minimizing the effects of reactive torque and axial loading on the drill string. The tool comprises a drill bit (30), a downhole motor (32), a tubular member (68) connected between the downhole motor and the drill string, and an anchor assembly (82) slidably mounted on the tubular member which is actuated by the tubular member to engage the casing during drilling of the well. The tubular member includes a setting section (172) for actuating the anchor assembly, a freewheel section (176) to facilitate orientation of the drill bit prior to drilling, and a working section (174) for maintaining the orientation of the drill bit during drilling. The method of drilling using the tool includes the steps of positioning the tool in the wellbore, actuating the anchor assembly to engage the casing, orienting the drill bit in the desired direction by rotating the drill string, and then drilling the well by applying weight on the drill string to advance the drill bit while maintaining the orientation of the drill bit.
On décrit un procédé ainsi qu'un outil, utiles pour commencer le forage d'un puits dévié, à partir d'un espace situé dans le tubage (78) d'un sondage tubé, et dans lesquels on utilise un train de tiges (26) non rotatif, tout en maintenant l'orientation voulue du trépan et ce, en minimisant les effets du couple réactif et de la charge axiale sur le train de tiges. Cet outil comprend un trépan (30), un moteur (32) de fond de trou, un élément (68) tubulaire relié entre le moteur et le train de tiges, ainsi qu'un ensemble ancrage (82) qui est monté coulissant sur l'élément tubulaire et actionné par celui-ci, afin de venir en prise avec le tubage lors du forage du puits. L'élément tubulaire comprend une section (172) de mise en place, destinée à faire fonctionner l'ensemble ancrage, une section (176) à roue libre servant à faciliter l'orientation du trépan avant le forage, ainsi qu'une section (174) de travail destinée à maintenir l'orientation du trépan lors du forage. Le procédé dans lequel on utilise cet outil, consiste à positionner l'outil dans le trou de forage, à actionner l'ensemble ancrage afin que celui-ci vienne en prise avec le tubage, à orienter le trépan dans la direction voulue par rotation du train de tiges, puis à forer le puits en appliquant du poids sur le train de tiges, afin de faire avancer le trépan, tout en maintenant l'orientation de celui-ci.
