A method of sealing a surface and structure of a refractory crucible with a ceramic, comprising the steps of: (a) heating a refractory crucible to a predetermined temperature; (b) applying a wetting agent to a surface of the crucible; (c) applying a ceramic slip along the inner surface of the crucible; (d) applying a vacuum to an outer surface of the crucible; (e) removing excess slip from the inner surface of the crucible; (f) heating the crucible to remove moisture therefrom; and (g) firing the crucible at a temperature between 1.300°C and about 1.700°C.

La présente invention porte sur un procédé d'étanchéification d'une surface et d'une structure d'un creuset réfractaire avec une céramique. Ledit procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : (a) chauffer un creuset réfractaire à une température prédéterminée ; (b) appliquer un agent mouillant sur une surface du creuset ; (c) appliquer un feuillet de céramique le long de la surface interne du creuset ; (d) appliquer un vide à une surface externe du creuset ; (e) enlever l'excès de feuillet de la surface interne du creuset ; (f) chauffer le creuset pour enlever l'humidité de ce dernier ; et (g) chauffer le creuset à une température comprise entre 1 300 °C et environ 1 700 °C.
