A predictive scanning input system provides predictive selection of individual indicators corresponding to keys on the keyboard (Fig. 1) to input a previously stored plural word message to a processor and subsequently to an output device. The predictive scanning input system of the present invention allows the user to select only a limited number of keys which can produce a previously stored message involving an initially detected symbol corresponding to a first key which has been operated. The system operates in conjunction with a keyboard containing a plurality of icons or polysemic (many-meaning) symbols to allow a user to access plural word messages or sentences previously stored in the memory thereof for selective retrieval by the keyboard.
L'invention est un système de saisie prédictif à balayage qui effectue une sélection prédictive d'indicateurs individuels correspondant aux touches d'un clavier (figure 1) pour introduire dans un processeur et transmettre ultérieurement à un dispositif de sortie un message de plusieurs mots stocké antérieurement. Le système de saisie de l'invention permet à l'utilisateur de sélectionner un nombre restreint de touches qui peuvent produire un message stocké antérieurement, ce message comprenant un symbole détecté initialement qui correspond à une première touche actionnée. Le système de saisie opère conjointement avec un clavier portant une pluralité d'icones ou de symboles polysémiques (à plusieurs sens) qui permettent à l'utilisateur d'avoir accès à des messages ou à des phrases de plusieurs mots stockés antérieurement dans sa mémoire, ce clavier permettant d'effectuer une extraction sélective.
