A process for the preparation of Pregabalin comprising: a) combining an alkali hydroxide and water, b) adding CMH at a temperature of about O~ C to about 40~ C; c) adding bromine, in a drop-wise manner, at a temperature of about O~ C to about 40~ C; d) heating; e) reacting with a strong mineral acid; f) extracting with a C4-8 alcohol, and g) mixing with a base to obtain Pregabalin. (Formula I)

La présente invention concerne un procédé pour préparer de la prégabaline. Ce procédé consiste a) à combiner un hydroxyde alcalin et de l'eau, b) à ajouter CMH à une température comprise entre environ 0 °C et environ 40 °C, c) à ajouter du brome goutte à goutte, à une température comprise entre environ 0 °C et environ 40 °C, d) à chauffer, e) à mettre en réaction avec un acide minéral fort, f) à extraire avec de l'alcool C4-8, puis g) à mélanger avec une base, afin d'obtenir de la prégabaline.
