An improved sensor support subassembly (10) for a chemical sensor (12) in the testing of gaseous emissions. The sensor subassembly (10) includes a sensor unit (12) slidably engaged with a gas intake manifold block (40). The sensor unit (12) has a cylindrical base (20) which forms the sensor inlet (26). The manifold block (40) includes a gas intake (46), a gas channel (42), and a U- shaped slot (50, 50a) for slidably engaging the cylindrical base (20) within the manifold block (40) to form an air-tight passage between the sensor inlet (26) and the gas channel (42). The sensor subassembly (10) also includes a sealing ring (34) for insuring an air-tight seal between the sensor unit (12) and manifold block (40). This allows the sensor unit (12) to be rotated about the axis of the cylindrical base (20) and use of a card-edge connector (16).

L'invention porte sur un sous-ensemble support amélioré (10) pour un capteur chimique (12) destiné à mesurer des émissions de gaz. Ledit support (10) comprend un capteur (12) qui s'engage par glissement dans la tubulure d'admission de gaz (40). Le capteur (12) comporte une base cylindrique définissant l'orifice d'entrée (40) et la tubulure (40) comporte une entrée de gaz (46), un conduit où passe le gaz (42) et une fente en U (50, 50a) permettant d'introduire par glissement la base cylindrique (20) dans la tubulure de manière à constituer un passage étanche à l'air entre l'entrée du capteur (26) et le conduit que traverse le gaz (42). Le support de capteur (10) comporte également un joint annulaire (34) assurant l'étanchéité à l'air entre le capteur (12) et la tubulure (40). Le capteur (12) peut ainsi tourner autour de l'axe de la base cylindrique (20), ce qui permet d'utiliser un connecteur du type bord de carte (16).
