An internet blocking device comprising an internet plug receptacle for connecting the device to the internet; a computer plug receptacle for connecting the device to a computer; an unpowered and unmonitored signal conduit connected between the internet plug receptacle and the computer plug receptacle providing a one-to-one internet data connection between the internet plug receptacle and the computer plug receptacle; a switch associated with the signal conduit and configured to be selectively switched by a user at will, the switch being configured such that when the switch is de-actuated, the internet plug receptacle and the computer plug receptacle are physically disconnected; whereby data does not flow through the device when the switch is de-actuated.
