Recombinant human parainfluenza virus type 2 (HPIV2) viruses and related immunogenic compositions and methods are provided. The recombinant HPIV2 viruses, including HPIV2 chimeric and chimeric vector viruses, provided according to the invention are infectious and attenuated in permissive mammalian subjects, including humans, and are useful in immunogenic compositions for eliciting an immune responses against one or more PIVs, against one or more non-PIV pathogens, or against a PIV and a non-PIV pathogen. Also provided are isolated polynucleotide molecules and vectors incorporating a recombinant HPIV2 genome or antigenome.
L'invention concerne des virus parainfluenza humains de type 2 (HPIV2) recombinés, ainsi que des compositions et des procédés immunogènes apparentés. Les virus HPIV2 recombinés, incluant des virus chimériques et des virus vecteurs chimériques HPIV2, fournis selon l'invention sont infectieux et atténués chez des sujets mammifères réceptifs, notamment chez l'homme, et servent dans des compositions immunogènes pour induire une réponse immunitaire contre un ou plusieurs virus parainfluenza (PIV), contre un ou plusieurs pathogènes non PIV ou bien contre un virus PIV et un pathogène non PIV. L'invention concerne également des molécules et des vecteurs polynucléotidiques isolés contenant un génome ou un antigénome du virus HPIV2 recombiné.
