The invention concerns a method for simulating the positioning of a streamer towed by a vessel (10) during a geophysical data acquisition process at sea, said acquisition process using shots from at least one acoustic source (Sa), said method using a hydrodynamic model for interaction between an ocean current, the ship's trajectory and the streamer. The invention is characterised in that it consists in determining temporal and spatial variations of the current. The invention also concerns a method of navigation aid of a seismic survey vessel, and a coverage rate forecast method using such a simulation method.

L'invention concerne une méthode de simulation de positionnement de streamer remorqué par un navire (10) lors d'une opération d'acquisition en mer de données géophysiques, ladite opération d'acquisition mettant en oeuvre des tirs d'au moins une source acoustique (Sa), ladite méthode mettant en oeuvre un modèle hydrodynamique d'interaction entre le courant marin, la trajectoire du navire et le streamer, caractérisée en ce que la méthode comprend la détermination des variations temporelles et spatiales du courant. L'invention concerne également une méthode d'aide à la navigation d'un navire sismique, ainsi qu'une méthode de prévision de taux de couverture mettant en oeuvre une telle méthode de simulation.
