Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé pour réduire ou inhiber la perméabilité vasculaire, en particulier la perméabilité vasculaire accrue associée au facteur de perméabilité vasculaire (VPF) et/ou au facteur de croissance épithéliale vasculaire (VEGF), ainsi que les oedèmes cutanés apparaissant avec la pemphigoïde bulleuse, l'érythème polymorphe, la dermatite herpétiforme, la dermatite de contact et/ou l'hypersensibilité retardée, notamment en utilisant l'inhibiteur PKC sélectif de .beta.-isozyme, (S)-3,4-[N,N'-1,1'-((2"-éthoxy)-3'''(O)-4'''-(N,N-diméthylamino)-butane)-bis-(3,3'-indolyl)]-1(H)-pyrrole -2,5-dione et ses sels acceptables sur le plan pharmaceutique.
