Network selection methods and apparatus with home network prioritization after network signal recovery and/or power-on are disclosed. In one illustrative example involving automatic network selection, a mobile station (200) selects and operates with a non-home communication network (406). The mobile station (200) then experiences an out-of-coverage condition (or a power down condition) but subsequently regains signal coverage (or is powered back on). In response, the mobile station (200) scans to identify a plurality of communication networks in its coverage area. If a home network (402) is identified as being available, the mobile station (200) selects and operates with the home network (402). Otherwise, if the previous non-home network (406) (e.g. the RPLMN) is identified as being available, the mobile station (200) continues operation with the previous non-home network (406).
L'invention concerne des procédés de sélection de réseau et un appareil à établissement de priorité de réseau domestique après reprise de signal de réseau et/ou mise sous tension. Dans un exemple de l'invention impliquant la sélection de réseau automatique, une station mobile (200) sélectionne un réseau de communication non domestique (406) et fonctionne avec celui-ci. La station mobile (200) pratique ensuite un test d'état de type hors-couverture (ou un état de mise hors tension) et enregistre subséquemment le retour de la couverture de signal (ou est de nouveau mise sous tension). En réponse à cette opération, la station mobile (200) procède à un balayage d'une pluralité de réseaux de communication afin d'identifier ces derniers dans sa zone de couverture. Si un réseau domestique (402) est identifié comme étant disponible, la station mobile (200) le sélectionne et fonctionne avec celui-ci. Si le réseau non domestique (406) précédent (par exemple, le réseau RPLMN) est identifié comme étant disponible, la station mobile (200) continue de fonctionner avec celui-ci.
