This invention is about completely flexible keyboard matrix (flexible keyboard matrix), which enables production of keyboard on pulp and fabric materials such as paper or cloth. The major improvements over conventional keyboard matrix are in two major areas. 1) The metal sheets or wires, used to be planted in the matrix, are replaced by metal chains; 2) The flexible keyboard matrix is self- contained with "pressing units", which can generate electronic pulses without attaching external plastic keys to intensify pressure to the matrix. These two changes make it possible to manufacture computer data input device by textile industry in the form of more environmental friendly disposable goods such as paper or cloth. More importantly, the new flexible keyboard matrix makes it possible for seasoned computer users to enjoy comfort and familiarity of keyboard when working with small computing units such as cell phone and PDA. They can fold data input devices into pocket-sized packages and carry around anywhere to enjoy well-trained typing skills and speedy data entry. Stripping away plastic components now required to interact with conventional keyboard matrix, such as plastic keys and frames, also save materials and lower manufacturing costs.
