The present invention provides an expandable tubular having improved polished bore receptacle protection. The present invention further provides methods for completing a wellbore through the use of an expandable string of casing having improved polished bore receptacle protection. In one aspect, the invention includes a liner member (200) having an expandable section (225), and a polished bore receptacle (25) positioned below the expandable section. The expandable section is run into a wellbore (205), and is positioned to overlap with the bottom portion of a string of casing (210) already set within the wellbore. The expandable section is then expanded into frictional engagement with the surrounding casing. The expandable section optionally includes at least one sealing member (260) and at least one slip member (270) on the outer surface. In one aspect, a transition section (275) is provided between the expandable section and the polished bore receptacle. The transition section defines a sloped inner diameter which provides further protection for the sealing surfaces of the polished bore receptacle as tools, fluid, and tubulars are transited downhole through the polished bore receptacle.
La présente invention concerne un tubulaire extensible équipé d'une protection de contenant à alésage poli amélioré, des procédés de complétion d'un trou de forage dans lesquels on utilise une colonne de tubage extensible pourvue d'une protection de contenant à alésage poli amélioré. Selon un aspect, l'invention se rapporte à un élément de colonne perdue (200) comportant une partie extensible (225) et un contenant (25) à alésage poli, qui est placé sous la partie extensible. La partie extensible est introduite dans un trou de forage (205) et positionnée de manière à se superposer sur la zone inférieure d'une colonne de tubage (210) déjà présente dans le trou de forage. La partie extensible est ensuite dilatée pour se trouver ainsi en contact par frottement avec le gainage voisin. La partie extensible comprend éventuellement au moins un élément d'étanchéité (260) et au moins un élément de coin de retenue (270) situés sur la surface externe. Selon un aspect, une partie de transition (275) est prévue entre la partie extensible et le contenant à alésage poli. La partie de transition définit un diamètre intérieur avec réduction qui assure une protection renforcée aux surfaces d'étanchéité du contenant à alésage poli, lorsque les outils, le fluide et les tubulaires sont descendus en bas du trou par le contenant à alésage poli.
