ABSTRACT High-voltage switch provided for establishing and cutting off the bar transfer currents in a looped circuit, without creating sparks at the level of the principal contact (2, 3). Means (4 to 7) are provided in order, upon closing, firstly to immobilize the male part (1) of the contact and to ensure an auxiliary contact (7, 15) of the spark-arrester type, and, only then, to close the female part (2, 3) of the contact on its male part (1), and vice versa for opening.
