The invention described in this application relates to a method of insulating the sides of a typical Photovoltaic (PV) cell 1 by coating with Polyester (PET) layer. When producing Photovoltaic (PV) cell, transparent Polyester (PET) film 2 is used to glue thin metal wire, electrode 3, on PV cell 1. This new method is to increase the width of PET film by 1.5mm on each side, which considers electricity following direction, total of 3mm. This could vary on the thickness of PV cell in order to coat cell sides. PV cell production involves gluing PET film 2 under 150 degrees Celsius. By simply increasing the width of the PET film, each end of PET film will melt down and coat the sides of PV cell perfectly. The advantage that comes with this invention is that by coating the sides of PV cell, cell edge- breakage can be prevented. Furthermore, by insulating two sides of PV cell, assembling PV cell one next to another with no gap becomes possible and prevents shunting by direct contact between cells.
