A grinding mill comprising a substantially cylindrical body is arranged to rotate about a substantially horizontal axis. The body includes a grinding portion adjacent to a discharge portion with the discharge portion comprising a discharge end wall arranged for the passage therethrough of material to be discharged from the mill. A truncated conical or a truncated pyramidal screening wall is located inwardly of the discharge end wall and has its notional vertex remote from the grinding portion. A cavity is located between the discharge end wall and the screening wall and portions of the cavity are solid with cavity channels being located between adjacent solid cavity portions. At least portions of the cavity channels are curved when projected onto a notional plane perpendicular to any notional plane which passes through the substantially horizontal axis. The screening wall includes screening means which overlay at least portions of the cavity channels for the passage therethrough of screened material into the cavity channels for subsequent discharge from the mill through the discharge end wall.

Broyeur comprenant un corps essentiellement cylindrique. Il est placé de manière à tourner sur un axe essentiellement horizontal. Le corps du broyeur possède une partie où s'effectue le broyage qui est adjacente à la partie de décharge du broyeur. Cette partie compte une paroi d'extrémité de décharge qui est aménagée de manière à ce qu'elle permette le passage des matériaux à évacuer du broyeur. Une paroi de criblage tronconique ou en forme de pyramide tronquée se trouve du coté intérieur de la paroi d'extrémité de décharge, et son sommet théorique est éloigné de la partie où s'effectue le broyage. Il y a une cavité entre la paroi d'extrémité de décharge et la paroi de criblage, et des parties de la cavité sont pleines, alors que des canaux dans la cavité se trouvent entre les parties pleines de la cavité qui sont voisines. Les canaux dans la cavité sont en partie incurvés si on les projette sur un plan horizontal théorique perpendiculaire à tout autre plan théorique qui passe par l'axe essentiellement horizontal. La paroi de criblage comprend un dispositif de criblage qui recouvre au moins des parties des canaux de la cavité pour le passage à travers lui des matériaux criblés vers les canaux de la cavité pour leur évacuation ultérieure hors du broyeur par la paroi d'extrémité de décharge.
