Colored bicomponent filaments have a particulate colorant dispersed throughout one of the fiber domains while another of the fiber domains is colorant-free. More specifically, the filaments have at least two distinct components arranged longitudinally coextensive with one another. The arrangement of the components may be a sheath/core structure or a side-by-side structure. One of the components contains a colorant and the other one does not (i.e., is colorant free). The colorant-free component is most preferably formed of a polymeric material which is incompatible with the particulate colorant, whereas the colorant-containing component is most preferably formed of a polymeric material which is compatible with the particulate colorant.

Des filaments colorés à deux constituants renferment un colorant particulaire dispersé dans une des parties de la fibre alors qu'une autre partie de la fibre reste exempte de colorant. Plus spécifiquement, les filaments comportent au moins deux constituants distincts placés longitudinalement l'un par rapport à l'autre et de même longueur. Les constituants peuvent être placés de manière à obtenir une structure enveloppe/noyau ou une structure côte à côte. Un des constituants contient un colorant et l'autre n'en contient pas (c.-à.-d., exempt de colorant). Le constituant exempt de colorant est, de préférence, en matière polymère incompatible avec le colorant particulaire, alors que le constituant contenant le colorant est, de préférence, en matière polymère compatible avec ce colorant particulaire.
