The invention relates to the use of at least one of the 4 SNP markers rs306534, rs3739902, rs575916 and rs365297 for carrying out a diagnosis, a process for diagnosing a predisposition to premature canities, the use of a means for determining the alleles of the 4 markers with a view to a diagnosis and a kit for the diagnosis, a process for the diagnosis of a predisposition to premature canities based on the haplotype defined by the markers rs3739902, rs2583805 and rs377090 and the use of at least one polynucleotide fragment comprising at least 18 consecutive nucleotides, the sequence of which corresponds to all or part of the region in a non-human mammal homologous to that of the human chromosome 9 defined by the SNP markers rs306534 and rs365297 for the diagnosis of a predisposition to premature canities in said mammal.

Cette invention concerne l'utilisation d'au moins un des 4 marqueurs SNP (rs306534, rs3739902, rs575916 et rs365297) pour établir un diagnostic, conduire un processus visant à diagnostiquer une prédisposition à une canitie précoce; l'utilisation d'un moyen pour déterminer des allèles des 4 marqueurs en vue d'établir un diagnostic, et une trousse de diagnostic. Elle concerne également un processus destiné à diagnostiquer une prédisposition à une canitie précoce sur la base du halotype défini par les marqueurs rs3739902, rs2583805 et rs377090; et l'utilisation d'au moins un fragment polynucléotidique comprenant au moins 18 nucléotides consécutifs dont la séquence correspond, chez un mammifère humain, à tout ou partie de la région homologue de celle du chromosome 9 humain définie par les marqueurs SNP rs306534 et rs365297, pour diagnostiquer une prédisposition à une canitie précoce chez ledit mammifère.
