The present invention relates generally to a process for recovering copper and/or other metal values from a metal-bearing ore, concentrate, or other metal-bearing material using pressure leaching and direct electrowinning. More particularly, the present invention relates to a substantially acid-autogenous process for recovering copper from chalcopyrite-containing ore using pressure leaching and direct electrowinning in combination with a leaching, solvent/solution extraction and electrowinning operation.

L'invention concerne, d'une manière générale, un procédé permettant de récupérer du cuivre et/ou d'autres valeurs métalliques d'un minerai, concentré renfermant du métal ou d'un autre matériau renfermant du métal, au moyen de lixiviation sous pression et d'électroextraction directe. Plus précisément, l'invention concerne un procédé sensiblement autogène à l'acide permettant de récupérer du cuivre de minerai renfermant de la chalcopyrite, au moyen de la lixiviation sous pression et de l'électroextraction directe, conjointement avec une opération de lixiviation, d'extraction par solvant/solution et d'électroextraction.
