The oral administration of a compound, selected from endogenous polyamines (putrescine, spermidine, spermine), 1,3-propanediamine, the pharmaceutically acceptable solvates and salts thereof and the bioprecursor amides of same, to genetically alcoholic mice (from the UChB strain from the University of Chile) causes a significant reduction in alcohol consumption. The activity of said compound continues for a certain amount of time following the treatment period. Moreover, there is practically zero disulfiram-type adverse effect, which is advantageous given the unpleasant aspect of using certain antialcoholic agents, such as calcium cyanamide and said disulfiram. Therefore, the inventive compounds can be used to prepare medicaments that are used for the therapeutic and/or prophylactic treatment of alcoholism in humans.

L'administration par voie orale à des rats génétiquement alcooliques (provenant du pied de vigne UchB de l'Université du Chili) d'un composé sélectionné parmi les polyamides endogènes (putrescine, spermidine, spermine), la 1,3-propadiamine, leurs sels et solvates pharmaceutiquement acceptables, et leurs amides bioprécurseurs, permet de réduire de manière significative la consommation d'alcool. L'effet perdure pendant un certain temps après la période de traitement. De plus, l'effet adverse type-disulfirame est pratiquement nul, ce qui constitue un avantage par rapport à l'utilisation désagréable de certains agents anti-alcoolisme, tels que la cyanamide calcique et le disulfirame. Par conséquent, les composés de l'invention sont utiles dans la préparation de médicaments destinés au traitement thérapeutique et/ou prophylactique de l'alcoolisme chez les êtres humains.
