The present invention relates to a method of inhibiting the growth of killing algae, bacteria, yeast and/or fungi in a recirculating water system which comprises adding to the water a polymeric biguanide and an adjuvant of the Formula (1) or a salt thereof: wherein: R1 is an optionally substituted C8 to C12 or C18 to C22 alkyl group; and R2 and R3 each independently is H or optionally substituted C1-4-alkyl.

Procédé destiné à inhiber la croissance d'algues, de bactéries, de levures et / ou de champignons, ou à les tuer, dans un système à eau en recirculation. Ledit procédé consiste à ajouter à l'eau un biguanide polymère et un adjuvant de formule (1) ou un sel dudit adjuvant. Dans la formule (1), R?1¿ est un groupe alkyle C¿8? à C¿12? ou C¿18? à C¿22? éventuellement substitué et R?2¿ et R?3¿ représentent chacun indépendamment H ou alkyle C¿1-4? éventuellement substitué.
