A composite package (10) including a rectan- gular, outer, paperboard box (12) and a rectangular thin-walled, lightweight, molded plastic bottle (14) within the box (12) for use with hazardous liquids. The bottle (14) has a pouring spout (58) adjacent its front wail (42) and an elongated hollow handle (62) extending from the pouring spout (58) to the rear wail (44) and defining an air passageway (69) between the pouring spout (58) and the liquid containing chamber within the bottle (14). A vent spout (70) is provided at the rear of the handle (62). The top flap assembly (24) of the box (12) includes knock-out flap portions (88, 90, 98, 103 and 112) which overlie the pour- ing spout (58), the handle (62), and the vent spout (70), those knock-out portions (88, 90, 98, 103 and 112) removed when it is desirable to pour liquid from the package (10). A pair of paperboard reinforcing pads(114 and 116) are placed between the top flaps assembly (24) and the plastic bottle (14), the pads enhancing the crush resistance and impact strength.
Un emballage composite (10) comprend une boîte (12) en carton extérieure rectangulaire et une bouteille (14) en plastique moulée, légère, à paroi mince, rectangulaire renfermée dans la boîte (12), cet emballage étant destiné à contenir des liquides dangereux. La bouteille (14) comporte un bec verseur (58) adjacent à sa paroi frontale (42) et une poignée creuse allongée (62) s'étendant du bec verseur (58) à la paroi arrière (44) et formant un passage d'air (69) entre le bec verseur (58) et la chambre de la bouteille (14) contenant le liquide. Un goulot (70) d'entrée d'air est ménagé à l'arrière de la poignée (62). L'ensemble à rabats supérieurs (24) de la boîte comprend des parties de rabats ouvrables (88, 90, 98, 103, et 112) qui recouvrent le bec verseur (58), la poignée (62) et le goulot (70) d'entrée d'air, ces parties ouvrables (88, 90, 98, 103 et 112) étant retirées pour verser le liquide hors de l'emballage (10). Une paire de languettes de renforcement en carton (114 et 116) est placée entre l'ensemble à rabats supérieurs (24) et la bouteille en plastique (14), ce qui permet d'accroître la résistance à l'écrasement et la résistance aux chocs.
