An anti-IL-6 receptor antibody is examined on its inhibitory effect against transplanted islet dysfunction produced after islet transplantation. As a result, it is found that the anti-IL-6 receptor antibody can reduce the transplanted islet dysfunction, improve the survival of the transplanted islet, and also improve the hyperglycemic state of a recipient. It is also found that administration of the anti-IL-6 receptor antibody enables to prevent the production of an inflammatory cytokine in an infiltrating cell after the transplantation. Thus, it is now found that transplanted islet dysfunction produced after islet transplantation can be prevented by using the anti-IL-6 receptor antibody.
L~invention concerne un anticorps du récepteur anti-IL-6 considéré pour son effet inhibiteur contre un dysfonctionnement d'îlots transplantés produit après un transplant d'îlots. En conséquence, il s~avère que l~anticorps du récepteur anti-IL-6 peut réduire le dysfonctionnement d'îlots transplantés, améliorer la survie d'îlots transplantés et aussi améliorer l~état hyperglycémique d'un receveur. Il est aussi montré que l'administration d~anticorps du récepteur anti-IL-6 permet d'empêcher la production d'une cytokine inflammatoire dans une cellule infiltrante après le transplant. Donc, il s~avère maintenant qu~un dysfonctionnement d'îlots transplantés produit après un transplant d'îlots peut être empêché au moyen de l~anticorps du récepteur anti-IL-6.
