Disclosed is a polyamide composition that includes: (a) a polyamide 6 resin having a methanol extractables content of at least about 1% and a combined monomer and dimer content of less than about 0.4% by weight of the polyamide; (b) a carbon black pigment having an average particle size of at least about 15 nm and a surface oxygen content of at least about 10% by weight of the carbon black; (c) an inorganic stabilizer; and (d) a reinforcing agent. Articles formed from the. composition of the invention have unexpectedly improved surface appearance and retention of gloss and color after weathering.
