The present invention relates to a method and a system for routing traffic in a node (61) of a telecommunication system. In accordance with the method, (a) the node receives traffic units, such as call attempts to each of which is connected given call attributes on the basis of which the routing is carried out, (b) a suitable alternative is selected from among several possible traffic control alternatives (R1-R3, A8), whereby a set of attributes is allocated to each alternative for the selection and an atttribute is matched with the call attribute corresponding to it when testing the suitability of said alternative for said traffic unit. In order to enable flexible routing possibilities, a set of selection policies and the order in which they are used are specified for the selection, each selection policy specifying at least the available alternatives and the order in which said alternatives are selected for testing, whereby the suitability of the alternatives is tested in the order specified by the selection policy.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système d'acheminement du trafic au niveau d'un noeud (61) d'un système de télécommunications. Le procédé consiste (a) en la réception d'unités de trafic par le noeud, lesquelles unités de trafic peuvent être des tentatives de connexion auxquelles sont affectés des attributs servant de base pour l'exécution de l'acheminement, et (b) en la sélection d'une solution acceptable parmi une pluralité de solutions possibles (R¿1?-R¿3?, A¿8?) de régulation du trafic. Dans ce but, on affecte un jeu d'attributs à chaque solution soumise au choix, l'un de ces attributs devant coïncider avec l'attribut de connexion lui correspondant lors des tests de pertinence permettant de déterminer la solution retenue pour l'unité de trafic considérée. Pour donner plus de souplesse aux possibilités d'acheminement, on spécifie pour la sélection un jeu de stratégies de sélection ainsi qu'un ordre dans lequel on devra prendre en considération ces stratégies. En l'occurrence, chaque stratégie de sélection spécifie au moins les possibilités disponibles ainsi que l'ordre dans lequel on prend en considération ces solutions pour effectuer la sélection. Il en résulte que la recherche de pertinence des solutions se fait en respectant l'ordre spécifié par la stratégie de sélection.
