A movable barrier operator includes an absolute position detector (124) which provides a unique value for each position of the barrier (12) along its path of travel. The absolute position detector (142) employs multiple binary serial streams and one multiple clock stream. After the first five cycles of the clock stream, the binary streams can be decoded by a processor to produce an absolute position. Every clock edge produces a new absolute position along the path of travel.
La présente invention concerne d'adjonction, à un actionneur de barrière mobile, d'un détecteur de position absolue (124) produisant une valeur unique à chaque position de la barrière (12) sur son parcours. Ce détecteur de position absolue (124) met en oeuvre des trains d'impulsions série binaires multiples, et un train d'impulsions de synchronisation multiples. Après les cinq premiers cycles du train d'impulsions de synchronisation, les trains d'impulsions binaires peuvent être décodés par un processeur de façon à produire une position absolue. Chaque crête d'impulsion de synchronisation produit une nouvelle position sur le parcours.
