Disclosed herein is an analyte sensing device capable of continuously monitoring metabolic levels of a plurality of analytes. The device comprises an external unit, which, for example, could be worn around the wrist like a wristwatch or could be incorporated into a cell phone or PDA device, and an implantable sensor platform that is suitable, for example, for implantation under the skin. The external device and the internal device are in wireless communication. In one embodiment, the external device and the internal device are operationally linked by a feedback system. In one embodiment, the internal device is encapsulated in a biocompatible coating capable of controlling the local tissue environment in order to prevent/minimize inflammation and fibrosis, promote neo-angiogenesis and wound healing and this facilitate device functionality.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de détection d'analytes apte à surveiller de manière continue les niveaux d'une pluralité d'analytes. Ce dispositif comprend une unité externe qui peut par exemple se porter au poignet à la manière d'une montre-bracelet, ou encore être incorporé dans un téléphone cellulaire ou un assistant numérique personnel (PDA), et une plate-forme de détection implantable convenant par exemple pour l'implantation sous-cutanée. Le dispositif externe et le dispositif interne communiquent par transmission sans fil. Dans une forme de réalisation, le dispositif externe et le dispositif interne sont reliés de manière opérationnelle par un système de rétroaction. Dans une forme de réalisation, le dispositif interne est encapsulé dans un revêtement biocompatible capable de modifier l'environnement tissulaire local afin de prévenir/minimiser l'inflammation et la fibrose, de favoriser la néo-angiogenèse et la cicatrisation, et de contribuer ainsi à la fonctionnalité du dispositif.
