A method for improving the efficiency of a building project which building project consists of at least one subdivision together with at least one factory located within or proximate to the subdivisions and which at least one factory produce manufactured houses for installation in the subdivision. The method utilizes a storage area in which completed or substantially completed manufactured houses from the factory may be held until delivery to the subdivision, and placement upon a house foundation, is most opportune. The method also allows the storage area to be used for intermediate manufacturing, final assembly, modification and inspection and allows the factories and the subdivision to operate with increased independence of one another while ultimately ensuring that the ultimate output of the factories optimally satisfies the requirements of the subdivision.
