A low friction bearing for a linearly moveable member has a marker embedded in it to provide a visible mark on the moveable member to indicate that the bearing is worn out and needs replacing. The low friction bearing has a first side surface for slidingly engagement with the linearly moveable member with a non-moveable member. The marker is embedded in the low friction bearing at a predetermined distance from the first side surface. The low friction bearing wears on the first side surface until the marker is exposed to the linearly moveable member. Continued exposure of the marker to the linearly moveable member creates a visible mark on the linearly moveable member to indicate that the low friction bearing has reached its wear limit.
