ABSTRACT Acutter tool of the kind having a blade body with teeth which are provided with hard material tips is so machines that the side faces of the tips are dished or otherwise concavely contoured. The machining involves mounting the blade body on a worktable and first machining the side faces on one side of the tips to produce a reference plane and using this plane as a reference plane for subsequent machining of the other side faces and the surfaces of the blade body.
