ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to new compounds useful both orally and parenterally as mammalian contraceptives. The compounds are characterized by at least four and up to about eight amino acids. Four of the amino acids are selected from the group consisting of threonine, proline, arginine, lysine, serine, hydroxyproline, ornithine and histidine. These amino acids are formed in a tetrapeptide unit, the amino terminus of which is the amino acid threonine or serine, said threonine or serine being formed in a peptide bond through its carboxyl group to the amino group of proline or hydroxyproline. The remaining two amino acids in the tetrapeptide unit are selected from the group con- sisting of arginine, lysine, ornithine and histidine.
