ABSTRACT Described is an organic coating composition particularly useful in cathodic electrodeposition comprising a dispersion, solution or suspension of a coating composition containing an acrylic polymer; the coating composition characterized by being the product of a reaction with a fatty acid and also containing Formula A within said polymer molecule, and said Fprmula A group being derived from an oxirane ring wherein the coating composition has substantially no oxirane rings therein: Formula A: -CH2-C (Z)-CH2-N = wherein z is hydrogen, hydroxyl, alkyl ether of 1 to 6 carbon atoms; acyloxy of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; (=O, as in a ketone) ?OR'?n H; ?OR'?n OH, and ?O-R' (CH2OH)?n OH where R' is saturated alklene of from 2 to 4 carbon atoms and n is from 1 to 6.
