SHEET METAL BRAKE Abstract of the Disclosure A sheet metal brake comprising a frame having a fixed jaw and a movable jaw and an anvil member secured to said fixed jaw. The movable jaw has a clamping surface movable between workpiece clamping and non-clamping positions relative to the anvil member and means for releasably locking the movable jaw in workpiece clamping position. A bending member is hingedly connected to the fixed jaw. The movable jaw has its front edge spaced rearwardly of the front edge of the anvil member when in clamping position and an exten- sion member is mounted on the front edge of the movable jaw and has a portion extending forwardly and forming an exten- sion of the clamping surface. The area above this portion of the extension member is free and unobstructed such that the workpiece can be bent substantially beyond 90°. - i -
