ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification describes a measuring transformer for capacitative measuring of liquid levels consisting of two electrodes electrically insulated from each other, where an electrode band is embedded in an enamel layer on a steel body serving as opposite electrode, and where the partial capacity between this electrode and the steel body, being a function of the filling level, is determined by the share of field lines passing through a liquid on their path from the electrode to the steel body on the side facing away from the steel body. A metallic screening band which is wider than the electrode band and which screens the electrode band along part of its length is embedded in the enamel layer between the electrode band and the enamel surface.
