HOE 78/F 146 NOVEL PROSTAGLANDIN DERIVATIVES OF THE .DELTA. 2,4-11-DEOXY-PEG SERIES Abstract of the Disclosure: The present invention relates to novel prostaglandin deri- vatives of the formula I Image I which are structurally related to the naturally occurring prostaglandins and in which R1 denotes a) hydrogen or a straight-chain or branched, saturated or unsaturated alipha- tic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical having up to ten carbon atoms or b) a physiologically acceptable metal or NH4 ion or an ammonium ion which is derived from a primary, se- condary or tertiary amine and R2 denotes a straight-chain, aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having up to six carbon atoms and to a process for their manufacture. The compounds of the invention are distinguished in par- ticular by gastric acid secretion-inhibiting and ulcer-pro- tective properties.
