RESILIENT MOUNTING FOR A RAIL ON ITS SUPPORT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A resilient mounting for a rail on a support, in this case a concrete sleeper, comprises a flexible liner between the ground flange of the rail and the sleeper, and to each side of the rail a mounting clamp comprising a flexible rail restrainer which overlies and engages the ground flange and the sleeper, a bowed spring plate overlying the rail restrainer and overhanging beyond the edge of the restrainer at least above the ground flange of the rail, and clamping means extending through the spring plate and rail restrainer. The spring plate is bowed into an arcuate configuration in a plane parallel to the longi- tudinal axis of the rail, at least at the edge adjacent the rail, and becomes flattened during tightening of said clamping means drawing the spring plate into compressing engagement on said rail restrainer.
