IMPROVEMENTS IN DIGITAL FILTERS Abstract of the Disclosure The introduction of nonlinear quantizing between the operation of addition and the recursive section of a digital filter has been found to improve the error performance of such filters, by eliminating arbitrary truncation errors without the need for excessive memory storage. A digital filter utilizing prestorage ROMs together with nonlinear quantizing that is suitable for PCM channel banks is disclosed. - i -
