ABSTRACT Text processing apparatus comprises a keyboard, a video display and a message buffer containing text to be displayed. When a word is too long to be contained on a display line, it automatically overspills and will form the first word on the next line. The mechanism for doing this includes a word boundary counter which keeps track of the starts of words as they appear in the message buffer. This also allows such features as word underscore and word delete to be performed.
