ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus for dispersing a particulate solid uniformly in a liquid are described. The apparatus comprises a duct open at one end with a central inlet at the other end through which the solids are fed entrained in a stream of gas, and a plurality of liquid sprays arranged around this inlet. The particles are wetted as they travel through the duct by the mist particles generated by the sprays and they emerge from the open end of the duct and pass into the liquid in which they are to be dispersed.
