ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification discloses a system for moving and securing an elastic sheet used in the ink duct for offset or letterpress printing machines whereby after displacement of the sheet a new unworn part of the sheet is in contact with the duct roller. According to one embodiment of the invention a rotatable clamping spindle extends over the length of the ink duct and the spindle is provided with a longitudinal slot for attaching the sheet. The present invention provides an ink duct in which the service life of the sheet is extended thus reducing the frequency of emptying the ink duct. This is achieved by fastening the elastic sheet in such a way as to be tangentially displace- able with respect to the duct roller whereby after displace- ment a new unworn section is in contact with the duct roller.
